The Primary School Inter-House Cross Country Carnival will be held on Thursday 15th March 2018 commencing at 9.00am and concluding at 11.00am.
Students are expected to arrive at school at the regular time (by 8.50am) and report to their class as per usual. The class teachers will accompany their class to the Carnival after roll call. The approximate race times for the Cross Country are as follows:

In 2018, with the consent and support of National Parks and Wildlife Service, we are again very excited to be able to utilise the Googik Track as part of the course. With the exception of Kindergarten and Year 1, all students will compete in the age group based on their age as at 31/12/2018. The students in the 7/8, 9 and 10 year age groups will be running approximately 2km while the 11 and 12/13 year age groups will be running approximately 3km. Students in Kindergarten and Year 1 will complete a course around the SCAS Back Oval (approximately 500m – 1km).
Please note that this is a whole of school activity and therefore no acceptance is required in the Parent Lounge.
Uniform
Students are to wear their full SCAS Sports Uniform with relevant house shirt (if available) and suitable enclosed running shoes. Please ensure that your child has a hat for sun protection, a supply of sun cream and an extra water bottle for the day and all clothing can be identified if required.
Parents are welcome to attend this event. We request that parents are mindful of the pedestrian activity around SCAS at all times and please observe the designated speed limit on school grounds. Parking in the southern carpark is the preferred option. It is a requirement that all visitors to SCAS sign in at the Front Office before making your way to the Back Oval (location for the start and finish).
HRIS Cross Country Carnival
The top five competitors in each age group may be invited to attend the Hunter Region Independent Schools (HRIS) Cross Country Carnival which is proposed to be held on Friday 4th May 2018 at Avondale College Cooranbong. If students are unavailable to attend the HRIS event they are required to notify Mr Harrison on completion of their race.
