Inaugural SCAS Humanities Showcase

The Humanities involve the study of how people process and document the human experience. Throughout time, humans have used literature, history, religion, human geography, politics, commerce, law and language to understand and record the world and our place within it.

The inaugural SCAS Humanities Showcase was held on Thursday 7 November in the Iona Performing Arts Centre foyer. On display, an array of Secondary student work samples curated from the HSIE and English Faculties, including films, podcasts, projects, published works, interactive displays, picture books, short stories, trade displays, individual research, TEDx Talks, websites and posters.

Knowledge of the humanities gives us opportunities to feel a sense of connection to those who have come before us, as well as to our contemporaries and to envision a common future. These ideals underpin the teaching and learning experiences across the Humanities at SCAS as part of our mission to nurture young people as compassionate, critical and creative citizens.

The afternoon was a wonderful representation and celebration of the diverse talents and interests of our students across Years 7 to 12 in the Humanities and the dedication and passion of their teachers.
