Rebecca finds her future in animation

Rebecca Hore graduated from St Columba in 2011, and during 2012 undertook a gap year working at a boarding school in Dublin, Ireland.

After returning to Australia, Rebecca started a Bachelor of Economics but decided it wasn’t the right course for her, and spent the next three years working full time and deciding what it was she wanted to do. In 2015, she decided that her passion was in the animation and visual effects industry, and she enrolled in an Advanced Diploma in Screen and Media at the Academy of Interactive Entertainment.

While she was studying she was offered an internship at Animal Logic, one of Australia’s largest animation studios, and after her internship finished she was offered a full time position while she finished the last six months her course, graduating in December 2016.

Rebecca is currently working in the Technical Operations department as a render wrangler. During the past year Animal Logic has worked on a number of visual effects projects for some soon-to-be-released blockbusters, and Rebecca has just finished working on her first credited role in The Lego Batman Movie, to be released in March 2017. Rebecca says that she has gained a lot of valuable experience working within the industry so far, and she is excited to be continuing work on the Lego Movie Sequel and the new Peter Rabbit movie.
