Students meet with the Governor of NSW

On the 22nd February a selected group of young people from the Hastings region were invited for a round table discussion with His Excellency General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC, Governor of NSW, and his wife Mrs Linda Hurley.

Year 11 Students Ela Conroy and Gregory Mitchell and Year 7 student Shalise Leesfield represented St Columba Anglican School, and took the opportunity to raise concerns about access and safety for young people using public transport, the importance of youth music and arts events, and the ongoing and necessary care for the environment respectively.

The discussion was closed with a tradition normally saved for Government House functions, where all attendees sing three rounds of “You are my Sunshine, my only Sunshine”.
