As we approach the end of another term, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on some recent highlights and share important information for the upcoming break and Term 2.
Our recent camp programs have been a resounding success, with students embracing challenges and representing our school admirably. It’s heartening to see how they’ve grown and thrived during these experiences. I extend my congratulations to all the students who faced their initial nerves and emerged victorious, demonstrating resilience and determination. A big thank you to our dedicated staff who sacrificed time with their families to make these experiences possible. Your commitment to fostering a culture of deep learning is truly appreciated.
As we head into the holidays, I hope all our students enjoy a well-deserved rest. During the break we will gather with the rest of Port Macquarie to commemorate ANZAC Day, and I encourage you and your families to join us for the march and service. Details are provided for your convenience.
Term 2 will start with several events in the first two weeks, including our Mother’s Day breakfast, which will be held on Thursday, 2nd May, for female careers of Year 8 students. Please keep an eye on your emails for the invitation and RSVP details. We will also commemorate ANZAC Day with a full school assembly.
Our Year 9 service learning program will shift focus next term towards providing Christian service to our community. We’ll start with a trip to Grafton Cathedral, an integral and compulsory part of our curriculum that offers students a chance to explore our Anglican identity and expand their horizons. I’m excited to hear about their experiences upon their return.
Thank you for your ongoing support, and I wish you all a peaceful and enjoyable break.
