On Friday, February 28th, students from Year 7 to Year 12 at St. Columba Anglican School gathered in eager anticipation for the highly awaited School Social, and it certainly lived up to the hype! Our theme was ‘Your Favourite Movie Character’, and our students did not disappoint with their costumes, with recognisable and hilarious characters from movies across the decades.
Year 12 students took the reins at the event, expertly managing the food stalls, overseeing entry, and orchestrating the lively activities on the dance floor.
Our student-run sausage sizzle, lolly, and drink station quickly became a crowd favourite, with sizzling sausages and perfectly paired soft drinks, chips and sweets adding that extra fizz to the evening. All proceeds from the event – both entry fees and food purchases – were directly contributing to the Year 12 Gift for 2025, as well as supporting St. Thomas’ Soup Kitchen with donations.
The dance floor was alive with energy as students danced to our movie-themed setlist or grooved with friends to Just Dance while others took a breather and joined in on the party games or enjoyed the party food outside the dance floor.
Undoubtedly, the sense of unity was palpable as the school community came together for one memorable night.
With delicious food, non-stop entertainment, and a great spirit of camaraderie, the social was certainly a resounding success for St Columba. A heartfelt thank you to the Year 12 students who worked tirelessly to put on a wonderful night, as well as to our hardworking staff members Miss Watters, Mr Terrett, Mrs Morton and Mr Rickmanis for their dedication, support, and encouragement, ensuring the evening was such a fantastic triumph!
