AICES Athletics 2017

Recently 15 St Columba students attended the AICES (Association of Independent Co-Educational Schools) Athletics Championships at the Sydney Olympic Park Athletics Centre.

Most of the student group took advantage of the team travel option forming new, and strengthening existing, friendships. The Carnival was held in ideal conditions, and our student athletes responded with some excellent results as follows:

Anneliese Cains – 2nd Girls 15 Years 1500m and 2nd Girls 15-16 Years 3000m
Matthew Catania – 4th Boys 16 Years Shot Put
Anton Dungay – 7th Boys 12 Years 200m and 9th Boys 12 Years 100m
Timothy Ebbs – 5th Boys 13 Years Shot Put and 5th Boys 13 Years Javelin
Sahara Elfar – 10th Girls 14 Years 1500m
Meg Goodwin – 2nd Girls 18 Years 400m, 2nd Girls 18 Years 800m, 3rd Girls 18 Years 1500m and 6th Girls 18 Years 200m
Hannah Griffin – 3rd Girls 16 Years Javelin
Kiera Johnson – 4th Girls 13 Years Shot Put
Mathilda King – 4th Girls 12 Years 800m, 5th Girls 12 Years 400m, 8th Girls 12 Years Shot Put and 9th Girls 12 Years High Jump
Maclaren Tierney – 8th Boys 14 Years 200m
Ruso Mafuve – 14th Girls 12 Years 100m
Maxwell Mangan – 7th Boys 12-14 Years Triple Jump and 10th Boys 14 Years Javelin
Jack Mills – 1st Boys 12-14 Years 3000m, 3rd Boys 14 Years 1500m and 5th Boys 14 Years 800m
Laura Reynolds – 2nd Girls 12 Years 1500m
Samuel Soper – 2nd 12-14 Years 3000m, 5th Boys 14 Years 1500m and 10th Boys 14 Years 800m

Congratulations to all of the above students, and best of luck to Anneliese, Meg, Jack, Laura and Samuel who have now qualified to attend the CIS (Combined Independent Schools) event to be held later this term.
