Amy Winterton at AICES Softball Championship

Year 9 student, Amy Winterton, recently represented Hunter Regional Independent Schools (HRIS) at the Association of Independent Co-Educational Schools (AICES) Open Girls Softball Championship.

This is a relatively new sport to HRIS and in previous years the Association has struggled against the Sydney School Associations who are more established in the sport. This year HRIS played well above expectations, finishing runners-up on the day – easily the best result HRIS has ever achieved at this tournament.

Amy played in the Catcher position and was rewarded for her efforts, being named a shadow reserve for the AICES team to participate in the Combined Independent Schools (CIS) tournament in 2018.

Congratulations Amy on your success and best wishes for your future representation in this sport.
