Earlyact provides opportunities for SCAS Primary students to gain increased awareness of their community and the world, and to recognise the dignity and worth of each individual. This term, our group has been working towards supporting the Salvation Army’s Cup of Kindness program.
What does a Cup of Kindness mean to our students?
Kindness Community is our Wellbeing focus across Primary in Term 3. Throughout the term we have reflected on how to make the world a better place by celebrating and promoting good deeds and performing acts of kindness.
What’s in our Cup of Kindness?
- A free hug
- A SCAS handball
- Your choice of movie night!
- A sweet treat
- Coffee voucher to Iona Cafe
- Cool ‘Dad’ jokes
- A Cup of Kindness key ring (made by our own D&T department)
How can you purchase a Cup of Kindness?
At the Father’s Day Breakfast on 28 August (or by contacting the Primary Office) parents and students can purchase a Cup of Kindness for $10. Proceeds (after costs) will be donated to the Salvation Army to provide care to someone in need.
The students looked for cost effective ways to make a SCAS ‘Cup of Kindness,’ and how to sell and market these products to gain exposure for the cause and to fundraise. They designed the logo and contents of the cup for the purpose of Father’s Day or for a VIP. Students were mindful that families are different and were keen to be inclusive.

Thank you for your support of our student’s efforts.
