Emily Wills’ Voice is back in SCAS’ Vocal Program

It did not take long for 2017 graduate Emily Wills to make her way back to the grounds of SCAS. Working this year as Assistant to the Vocal Program, Emily says it was the sense of community and belonging she felt as a student that brought her back.

“When I was offered the vocal assistant job it was a no-brainer to spend my GAP year amongst friendly and familiar faces,” says Emily.

Emily’s highlight as a student of SCAS was being a part of the creative arts programs. “The School has such a strong and renowned creative arts program.”

“To be a part of it was a gift and supplied me an abundance of knowledge and experience to help me work and study in the real world,” Emily explains.

Despite feeling like she never left, Emily has noticed the growth of the IONA Performing Arts Centre and the programs offered.

“New to this year are many more vocal groups for Primary students that see them develop core and fundamental vocal skills at an early age. It is so rewarding getting to experience their development on a daily basis,” says Emily.
