We had a fantastic experience for our first Focus Day in Textiles and Design. We started the day by live streaming with a textile industry expert Karissa Shrub who has designed for internationally renowned companies such as Zimmerman and Jets Swimwear before starting her own freelance design and pattern making company.
It was inspiring to hear about the Design process used by her in industry and her career evolution. We learnt all about new technologies from 3D modelling, CAD virtual samples and Avatars that will transform the textile industry and the future roles within it. This opportunity created so much motivation within our class to design, create and work on our Major Textile Projects throughout the day.
