Last Friday was the National Day of Action Against Bullying and Violence and SCAS marked the occasion with a schoolwide fundraiser drawing attention to the anti-bullying message and the promotion of a Kindness Culture.
Innes House were responsible for organising the day in Primary School, and House Captains Finn Pringle and Riley Hill assisted Mrs Heazlewood in facilitating this eventful day. Mufti days are always popular and colourful outfits abounded across the School.
Primary School held a poster competition and there were numerous creative and colourful posters promoting positive messages of kindness and inclusion. Congratulations to the following children whose outstanding efforts were recognised by the judges:
Honourable Mentions
Stage 1: Daisy Loman and Stella Campbell
Primary: Iori Chung and Ruby Rule
Most Outstanding Poster
Stage 1: Emma Zhang
Primary: Chantal Massoud
Our energetic Student Leadership Committee arranged a day of activities to promote kindness and inclusion, and our school community from K-12 donated generously. We were proud to donate over $1,130 to support Bully Zero, a leading national charity focusing on the prevention of bullying. We know these funds raised will help Bully Zero in their important work of preventing bullying and making our homes, our schools and our workplaces happy, safe and united against bullying.
Our Innes House leaders and I would like to thank the school community for supporting this event and taking time to recognise the importance of kindness and inclusion in helping build a school culture united against bullying.
