In a beautiful and moving experience, we enjoyed a wonderful Nine Lessons and Carols Service on Tuesday evening, 26th of November. There were more than 150 staff and students involved in various ways, and I am very grateful to them all. GREAT JOB EVERYONE! My thanks too to all the people who came to be a part of the service – there were well over 200 people who attended.
My thanks especially to all our students, and our choir conductors: Mrs Annie McRae conducting the Senior and Chamber Choirs, Mrs Dayna Moritz, the Junior Choir, and Mr Ben Robinson leading Manshed. The students in these choirs were absolutely amazing, and their songs were stunning. I am also very grateful to the PEAK Academy students that I and Mrs Bella Mistry, our Director of Performing Arts, could work with in supporting the dramatic performance pieces during the service, enabling our students to shine. This included the multi-lingual (extra-ordinary) and Aussie reading (brilliant), along with a dramatic retelling of the Three Wise Camels (action packed). Then there were those staff and students who worked in the tech box on the sound and lighting and other staff who helped out with set up and clean up. A big shout out for our Events Coordinator Ms Bec Gillespie who supported us through the lead up to this event. I cannot mention everyone by name – but my thanks again to all the staff and students who made this event possible
We had two very special guests, our guest preacher Rev. Jesse Poole from the Kempsey Anglican parish, and our guest reader Mrs Kate Wood-Foye, the Director of External Engagement at Charles Sturt University Port Macquarie Campus. Thank you both for coming and contributing, it was very much appreciated. My thanks to the many members of the School Executive, especially our Principal, Mr Allan Guihot. We also had many other special guests including those from the School Foundation, the Rev. Canon Dr John Barrett OAM, and from the School Council, including the Chair of Council, Mrs Heather Norton, the Deputy Chair, Mrs Sandra Hollins, along with Dr Ross Chambers, Emeritus retired professor of CSU. I should also mention our previous Principal, who is semi-retired and now a 2WAY FM 103.9 radio star, was also present, Mr Terry Muldoon. Thank you to all our invited guests who attended – it was very much appreciated.
Of all things we can be grateful for – it is the coming of God into the world as Jesus Christ. Merry Christmas, and Amen to that.
