Open Boys Touch Football Gala Day

In perfect conditions at Nelson Bay last Friday, our Open Boys Touch players proved us all proud this year.

The team produced some excellent Touch with spectacular drives and dives, with Manning Lawrie scoring a hat trick in the first game and some great winger tries also scored throughout the day. The boys went through the rounds winning, drew one and narrowly lost to the eventual winners in a see-sawing game which saw St Columba in front 4-2 at one stage, but the boys couldn’t maintain enough momentum to hold their dominance, eventually losing by one point to Central Coast Adventist School.

Our young men showed speed, skill, prowess, manners, honesty, integrity and mateship. The team consisted of Jacob Hardie, Angus Grigg, Ben Reardon, Manning Lawrie, Toby McIntyre, Isaac Heagney, Tom James, Jack Nethery and Angus Gibson.

Thanks goes to Mr Dickson and Mrs Diplock for accompanying the team to Nelson Bay, and Mr Dickson for refereeing and driving the bus.
