Robotics Build Continues

The robot building continues as our Iona Fusion team heads into their second week of preparation for the 2019 First Robotics Competition.

Students have been prototyping to solve the challenges for the competition. There are no plans to follow or templates – this is purely the innovation of our students.

To add to the challenge, competitors are required to have their robot builds completed by mid-February. This leaves our students with just six weeks to brainstorm, design, prototype, build, program and learn to drive their robot.

A parent asked our STEAM Director, Mr Dan Zavone, what robot the team was building this year. He responded:

“We are not building robots, we are building students…who are of course building a robot. These are our future engineers at work.”

Check out a taster of what the Iona Fusion have been up to in Week 2.
