Life can sometimes be challenging when we are dealing with changes such as divorce, separation, migration, school transitions, death and natural disasters. To support students who are facing these and other challenges, we are offering a program called Seasons for Growth. This program is an opportunity to learn with a small group of peers who have experienced similar issues.
Seasons for Growth can help students learn new skills to cope effectively with change and loss. It focuses on developing strengths in areas such as managing feelings, problem-solving, decision-making, communication and building support networks. Seasons for Growth is not counselling. It is an education program that uses a wide range of activities to help students learn how to manage well in times of change.
Seasons for Growth has been timetabled to run for eight weeks, with each weekly session being approximately 45 minutes. The program concludes with a ‘Celebration’ session, which parents and carers will be invited to.
The 2025 program will be commencing soon. If you feel this may benefit your child/ren and would like them to be considered for this program, please contact s.wallace@scas.nsw.edu.au
