Term 2 is a busy time at St Columba for a number of reasons. There are many exciting school events that take place, including the Athletics Carnival, Dance, Vocal and Instrumental Showcases and of course, Columba Day. It is also an important term for learning and assessment. At the end of this term, all families will receive a formal report on their child’s learning achievement.
Teachers gather, analyse and reflect on student evidence to make informed and consistent judgements. Within these reports, parents are informed of their child’s progress in relation to the age-related expected level of achievement. Student reports provide students, teachers and parents with a clear and concise picture of a point in time. Teachers make informed and consistent decisions about progress against the achievement standards using a variety of assessments and observations.
Results are based on the outcomes described in the NSW primary curriculum foundation statements and are reported to parents using the grade scale. We are focused on the growth and development of every child and it is important that we acknowledge this development at an individual child level. In Term 3, we follow up the report with a Parent Student Teacher Interview. Semester 1 Reports will be available to all families in Week 9 via the Parent Lounge and families will receive an email informing them when their child’s report is available to access.
I’d like to take this opportunity to congratulate your child on their achievements and thank our parents for their support as we continue to work in partnership in supporting your child to fulfil their potential.
