Year 2 to 10 ICAS Examinations 2020

Dear parents and caregivers,

St Columba Anglican School students will again be offered the opportunity to participate in the world-renowned International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS) Examinations this year. ICAS is designed to target students’ higher-order thinking and problem-solving skills. Our students are able to participate in English, Mathematics and Science.

We encourage you to consider entering your child into ICAS this year. The assessments are suitable for students wishing to extend themselves academically and take up the personal challenge of competing in an international assessment. Your child will be presented with high-quality, expert-developed questions, allowing them to apply their learning without the need for prior study or revision.

Year 6 students wishing to be considered for the DUX Award must complete the ICAS tests as this is an essential element of the criteria for this award.

The 2020 ICAS Assessments are online and will be held at school on the following dates:

  • 17 August – Science
  • 24 August – English
  • 31 August – Mathematics

Please note that we have been advised by ICAS that the Writing Examination will not go ahead in 2020.
