Last week, Drama students from Years 8 to12 had the great pleasure of working with Stefo Nantsou and Tom Lycos from Zeal Theatre Company.
As Artists in Residence for the week, Zeal worked on monologue performance techniques with senior drama students, production performance skills with Year 10 drama students and play building skills with Years 8 and 9. Valuable tips and techniques were learned by all.
As part of their residency program, Zeal worked with a select group of Year 9 and 10 Drama students to devise a performance for Years 5 and 6 on Friday. This piece was created from teacher and student suggestions of social issues that are currently present in the stage 3 cohort. Each day the Ensemble met with Zeal to improvise, playbuild and shape a final piece that explored the idea of friendship.
On Friday, the whole of Years 5 and 6 became the audience and watched the ensemble with glee! The Year 9 and 10 students were overjoyed to answer the audience’s questions about the production after the show.
