Curated by Year 9 History students, Sofia Oriti, Bella Heilborn and Matt Bone, the interactive ANZAC exhibit is part of an independent research project. Inspired by the question, “what does ANZAC mean to you?”, they interviewed their peers as well as local veterans and community members to discover the significance of ANZAC today. The resulting display presents a timeline of Australia’s war history through original artefacts, veteran’s accounts and personal reflections. The students prepared a video for submission to the ANZAC Day Schools Award.
The two week exhibition culminated in an afternoon tea with the veterans and community members in the SCAS library. The veterans enjoyed viewing the submission video with the students over home baked ANZAC biscuits and scones.
