Blast off! Year 5 bottle rocket experiments are a propelling force

During Term 1 this year, students have been studying different states of matter-solids, liquids and gases.

These pictures are from Year 5’s exploration with bottle rockets! We concluded the unit by considering the effect of liquid/air ratio in the propulsion of the bottle rockets. Students were given a short time to modify the exterior of their bottle rockets in an attempt to make them more aero-dynamic and visually appealing.
