Enterprising Girls Workshop 2020

Girls from Years 9 and 10 have had the opportunity to attend a one day workshop run by the Academy for Enterprising Girls and facilitated by the Young Change Agents organisation, a not for profit enterprise focused on developing the mindset, skillset and toolset of youth aged 10 to 21. This innovative entrepreneurship program is designed for girls who want to make a positive change in the world through business.

The workshop had our students working in teams of 5 and 6, competing against each other to create a business solution to a real world problem. Students had the opportunity to develop their 6Cs (collaboration, critical thinking, creativity, communication, character and citizenship) and grow their business understanding.

The Young Change Agents organisation, which is funded by the Federal government to offer the workshop free of change, virtually facilitated the day via Google Meet and Google Classroom communication.

Throughout the workshop our students were given the chance to create their own business ideas and build a prototype. These prototypes were then presented to a panel of our SCAS Educational Directors, with the winning prototype receiving lunch for their team at the School’s Iona Café.

Congratulations to the winning team, which comprised Georgia Stanfield-Gates, Erinn Alford, Megan Griffin and Anna Vavilova, whose winning project “Infinity Environmental Fashion” wowed the judges.
