Hip Hop Workshop with Sophie Kinnane

Our Year 9 and 10 Dance students have had the wonderful opportunity to learn from artist Sophie Kinnane, who took our students through a Hip Hop workshop as part of their Pop Culture Dance unit of work.

Sophie Kinnane graduated with a Diploma in Dance Performance and DUX of The National College of Dance in 2008, and was recognised for her choreography by Marilyn Jones, Artistic Director of The Australian Institute of Classical Dance, and won a Scholarship from The Edge Performing Arts in Los Angeles at The Global Dance Convention.

Sophie worked at Tokyo Disneyland performing leading roles including Cinderella, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty. She has recently been teaching an indigenous group of dancers from South Goulburn Island (off the coast of NT, Australia) and was invited to China for a performance tour with the dancers (known as the GBI Supercrew).

It was an incredible experience for our students to learn from someone so esteemed in the industry. Thank you for your time Sophie!
