Hannah Griffin and James Chambers recently represented the Hunter Region Independent Schools at the Association of Independent Co- Educational Schools U15 Boys & Girls Basketball Championships held in Sydney. Both Hannah and James had been selected to attend this event after a successful trial in Newcastle held late in Term 3.
Hannah, who attended this corresponding event in 2015, enjoyed good game time. The HRIS team played well throughout the day with 4 wins and just a single loss against eventual winners New Anglican Schools Sports Association. This placed the HRIS team in a commendable 2nd place out of the 6 regions which participated. James was also an integral part of his HRIS team, and enjoyed his first representation for HRIS. His team was exceptional, being dominant in most games and winning 2 of their games by a massive 40 points! The HRIS boys remained undefeated all day to win.
Well done and congratulations to Hannah & James for your outstanding success at this event.
