Iona Fusion, St Columba’s robotics team, travelled to Sydney to participate in the Duel Down Under hosted at Macquarie University.
This robotics event showcases teams from across Australia in what is the last official Robotics event of the year.
This event presented the team with some significant challenges as our competition robot was still returning from the USA World Championships held in April.
A new robot was designed and constructed in five days, highlighting the skills and tenacity of the team as they worked hard to be ready for the first day.
The event ended with Iona Fusion reaching the Quarter Finals after receiving a Judge’s Commendation for their knowledge of engineering, as well as winning the Automation and Control Award.
The robotics program here at St Columba has seen significant growth in the team since its beginnings only one year ago.
Congratulations Iona Fusion, Team 7433!
