Mathletics Success

The Annual Mathletics Challenge was run during November. The Westport Club, along with Mathletics, runs an annual challenge that many of the children are unaware of as they participate in Mathletics on a regular basis to complete homework and speed and accuracy games.

This year we had 18 students reach 1000 points as part of the Competency Challenge.  This is a wonderful result, and congratulations to all of these students. From this pool, five students were shortedlisted to be eligible to win a prize for themselves or for the school from the $5000 worth of prizes on offer. Congratulations to Ethan Kostalas, Lucia Garrett, Harley Livingston, Seth Maggs and Thomas Eid who were selected.

The second part of the competition was based on a live  Speed and Accuracy Challenge that took place  at The Westport Club on Wednesday afternoon. Our school representative for the live challenge was Jack Chambers.  Jack did extremely well in the competition, and won the overall prize for himself and a prize for the school.

Jack took great pride in presenting his prize, a Sphero, to the Head of Primary School, Mr Little, to add to the Coding and Robotics activities at St Columba.
