Students in Years 3 to Year 6 are enjoying honing their reading skills with volunteer Secondary students. Research suggests that cross-age tutoring may have many benefits including improved reading and fluency. We’ve found that it also broadens overall literacy and social skills for both the younger and older students.
Whether the goal is to practise reading, complete the Premier’s Reading Challenge or you just to hang out with some super supportive friends… we’re calling all Year 3 to Year 12 students to drop in and give it a try! Bring your own book or choose from the selection on offer. As an added bonus, one lucky student will be rewarded with a $20 Bookclub voucher!
