Sensational swimming at Primary carnival

Despite the forecast for storms the only lightning evident on the day was in the pool with many sensational swimming performances on show throughout the day. This included a fantastic effort by Finn Munro who had students, staff and parents on their feet applauding his individual performance in the 50m freestyle. All of the house captains led some well-rehearsed and energetic house chants, supporting the swimmers to personal best times. In the process a number of new records were achieved on the day as follows:

  • Jasmine Rumbel – 10 Years 100m Freestyle (1:28.56)
  • Grace Curran – 10 Years Girls 50m Breaststroke (49.88)
  • Ted Strong – 11 Years Boys 50m Backstroke (40.87)
  • Lily Barlow – 10 Years Girls 200 Individual Medley (3:30.94)
  • Jasmine Rumbel – 10 Years Girls 50m Freestyle (38.05)
  • Hayden Johnson – 11 Years Boys 50m Freestyle (34.75)
  • Lily Barlow – 10 Years Girls 50m Butterfly (45.78)

McCabe house were victorious in winning the point score for the day for the third year running, followed by Robinson, Innes and Farrell. Thank you to the many parent volunteers and supporters who attended the carnival in the humid conditions. The day would not be as successful without your support.

Congratulations to all participants and in particular the following individual Age Champions for 2017:
