HRIS Junior Football Gala Day – and the chance to meet former student athletes

Our Year 3 and 4 footballers recently attended the HRIS Junior Football Gala Day in Central Coast. While they were there for this event they had the opportunity to catch up with two former SCAS students, Ty McKibbin and Haine Eames, who are now attending Central Coast Sports College (CCSC). Both boys are exceptional sportsmen and represented SCAS at HRIS Football and other sports events during their time with us, and it was lovely for them to be able to catch up with their coach during this period, Mr Laurence Barlow, the SCAS Head of Sport, Mr Ben Offereins, and the current SCAS Year 3/4 Team coach, Mr Brett Stephens.

Ty and Haine refereed the HRIS Junior Football grand final on the day, which saw a valiant SCAS team go down to the CCSC team 1-0.

Ty attended SCAS from Kindergarten through to Year 9 leaving last year to further his sporting career at CCSC. Ty’s older sister, Phailin, an outstanding sportswoman herself, is a current SCAS Year 12 student. Ty was recently selected to represent NSW at the U16 Australian Football Championships during the upcoming school holidays. He is currently a member of the Central Coast Mariners A-League football club playing with their U18 and U20 squads.

Haine also left SCAS at the end of last year, having attended SCAS from Year 5 to Year 9. Similar to Ty, Haine was selected to represent NSW at the upcoming U15 Australian Football Championships. Haine is also a member of the Central Coast Mariners playing in the U15 and U16 National Premier League squads.

A third former SCAS football player, Campbell Page, also attends CCSC and plays for the Mariners, but unfortunately is currently recovering from a damaged medial ligament injury.

We wish Ty, Haine and Campbell all the best in their future sporting endeavours.
