Year 5 has shown a keen interest and enthusiasm this term while studying structural features and adaptations of living things in Science Superclass during their “The Bizarre and the Cryptid” unit.
Year 5 have performed extremely well working in Project Based Learning (PBL) groups, taking control of their own learning and enhancing many 21st century skills such as team work, collaboration and communication. Each group have created a model of a uniquely designed cryptid, describing its unique habitat, as well as its structural and behavioural adaptations. Most models have incorporated technologies such as microbits for eyes and Makey Makey for their animal sounds.
We are creating a book of all their cryptids, writing newspaper articles and carrying out some science experiments with regards to adaptations.
