So, it begins again. A new school year means lots of people doing lots of work to make the start of the year as smooth as possible:
Parents buying shiny new shoes, sourcing pristine books and folders and finding out that a growth spurt over the holidays means that last year’s uniforms no longer fit.
Students learning to wear a tie and shoes again, preparing to wake up earlier and rushing to find the missing bus pass/homework/pencil case, cleaning last year’s mess out of your school bag and wondering who will be your teacher(s).
Local tradespeople building, painting, laying carpet and improving facilities.
Teachers programming, preparing resources, studying, checking new curricula and planning teaching and learning strategies. Planning, planning, planning!
Administrative staff preparing documents, answering phone calls, meeting parents, making class lists, finalising new enrolments.
Grounds staff mowing, cleaning, moving furniture, delivering resources and the hundreds of large and small tasks that make the school ready.
And the result is:
Our students will return to a school that:
As the campus comes alive with students and staff, returning and new, we take this opportunity to thank:
And this is why we do it:
