Eden graduates with a Bachelor of Teaching

After many years at St Columba, Eden Gunter graduated in 2012 and headed straight off to University in Armidale (UNE) to study a Bachelor of Teaching (Primary).

Not knowing anyone in Armidale, Eden decided to apply to live at one of the many colleges in Armidale. After a successful application to St Alberts College, she packed up her things, got a job transfer with Coles and moved to Armidale.
Eden spent her first two years at UNE living at college before moving out into a rental with four close friends that she had met through living on campus. They shared a house for a year whilst still attending lectures and tutorials up at the University.

During her last year of study Eden decided to move back home to Lake Cathie to save some money and study from home, and worked as many hours as she could with the goal of travelling once University finished. Eden picked up some block work at a local preschool, where her role was to prepare 4 and 5 year old children for transition into Kindergarten, which included teaching them social skills, manners, numbers and how to write their names.

Eden is currently still working nights and weekends at Coles, as well as teaching casually at a few different primary schools around the Port Macquarie area. She is heading overseas in September 2017 to work with a teaching agency, casual teaching in schools about an hour out of London. When she returns from the UK, Eden has a permanent full time teaching position to go to in the western suburbs of Sydney, beginning in Term 2 of 2018.
