On Wednesday September 12, sixteen of our finest debaters from Years 5 to 8 accompanied Mr Zagami and Mr Mills to Bishop Tyrrell Anglican College in Newcastle. This was a wonderful opportunity for SCAS to be involved as one of 11 schools in an Independent School debating competition.
Congratulations to Hugh Conaghan, Adam Hempsell, Seanna Hosking and Amelia Stanfield-Gates from Year 5; Madeline Baxter, Remy Bucton, Eva Dabovich and Tahlia French from Year 6; Lara Neilson from Year 7; and Clare Chalker, Milana Cooper, Christopher Green, Jasmine King, Adam Kowalik, Harriet Lahey, and Mitchell Marchment from Year 8, for their diligent efforts on the day.
Further congratulations goes to Adam Kowalik for being acknowledged by the independent adjudicator for being the best debater amongst his peers. We look forward to our next opportunity to participate in these excellent learning opportunities for SCAS debating.
