Mathematics Students Study Safe Driving

Year 11 General Mathematics are currently studying a safe driving unit which looks at car purchasing, insurance, fuel consumption, loans, safe driving, blood alcohol content and stopping distances.

As part of this unit, Police Liaison Officer Steve Jeffries visited and has delivered a talk to the students as well as an experience using drug and alcohol goggles. The students were amazed at how their reactions and perceptions were affected by the goggles. This proved a great hands on and useful activity not only mathematically, but in the interests of educating our students in safe behaviours.
