Nine Lessons and Carols

The Nine Lessons and Carols was held in the St Columba Anglican School Chapel on Friday night. It was a beautiful night of glorious music and readings and the Chapel was full.

Da Camera, our wind and string ensemble, set the mood, playing in the Chapel atrium as the congregation arrived. The choral music in the service was provided by the Senior Choir, Chamber Choir, Iintombi, Man Shed and Primary Choir. The traditional, ancient format of the service was augmented with readings from prose and poetry that matched the sentiments behind the biblical passages.

Nine Lessons and Carols is now an established and much loved part of the St Columba calendar and was a moment of stillness and beauty in the middle of the chaos and rush that is this time of year.
