Primary Leadership Team 2018

Head of Primary 2018

After an extensive search and interview process, St Columba Anglican School is pleased to announce that Ms Shannon Rosewood has accepted the position of Head of Primary School, commencing 2018.

Ms Rosewood has a Masters of Special Education and has worked at a number of high performance schools, including Abbotsleigh, Shore and Blue Mountains Grammar School. She has been a recipient of the NSW Positive Teacher of the Year for leadership practices that promote harmony and strong well being initiatives for students. Ms Rosewood is currently Head of New England Girls School Primary School.

The interview panel was impressed by Ms Rosewood’s experience in developing a culture of educational excellence, developing leadership capacity among staff, ability to use educational data to improve performance, active support of service learning and her ability to engage with the wider school community.

“As Head of Primary, I will provide confident, dedicated and caring leadership that will support, encourage and grow staff, students, parents and the wider school community. I will work with the school community to ensure that the school is recognised for high student learning outcomes in particular in Literacy and Numeracy and high quality classroom instruction. I will instil a learning environment that continues a commitment to the development of the whole child and prepares the students for their future by fostering creativity, critical thinking  skills, communication, collaboration and compassion. I will work in close consultation with the wider school community and community partners to develop a vision and direction for the school that meets the needs of all key stakeholders within the community.”

We look forward to welcoming Ms Rosewood and her family into the St Columba community and are excited by the developments this new phase in the leadership of SCAS and the Primary School will bring.

New Primary Leadership Team for 2018

All candidates interviewed for these roles displayed a high level of professional knowledge and dedication to enhancing our students’ futures, and this made the choice of successful candidates a most difficult one.
