SCAS Basketball Program

After many great years of Basketball@SCAS we have had to make a change to how we support our basketball players.

In 2020, SCAS will be entering teams in the ages below through the Iona Sports Club at Port Macquarie Indoor Stadium.

The upcoming Junior Basketball competition is to commence on Monday afternoons starting early February 2020 at Port Macquarie Indoor Stadium. All competitions will be played on Monday afternoon / night with the exception of the Under 18s Boys which will be played on Wednesday.

Boys Competition:
Under 12s (born 2008 and 2009)
Under 14s (born 2006 and 2007)
Under 16s (born 2004 and 2005)
Under 18s (born 2002 and 2003)

Girls Competition:
Under 13s (born before 2007)
Under 15s (born 2005 and 2006)

Junior (U10 Boys and Girls):
Port Macquarie Basketball runs a junior program called Aussie Hoops for U10 players (boys and girls) on Thursdays from 4.15pm to 5.15pm. Aussie Hoops is the official Basketball Australia introductory program for 6-to 10 year olds. Aussie Hoops is a national program which provides an environment where children of all abilities can achieve on the court and reap the rewards of skill development, enhanced self-esteem, social cooperation and participation in sport. If you are interested in registering your son/daughter for one of the above competitions, we will open registration in Week 1 2020 in the Iona Sports Stadium.

In 2020 Basketball training will continue on Friday mornings for Years 2 to 6 , and we will introduce a Secondary Co-curricular training day on Tuesday and / or Thursday evenings from 5.00pm to 7.00pm.
