SCAS Teachers Recognised for Outstanding Achievements

The Annual World Teachers’ Day Awards were held on Friday 27th October at The Little Fish Cafe and two SCAS teachers, Mrs Stephanie Cairns and Mr Joshua Barnett, were honoured this year for their outstanding achievements in education.

Mrs Cairns (Secondary School) and Mr Barnett (Primary School) received their framed citations from the guest speaker, Mr James Holbeck, a former Australian Rugby Union player who has an honours degree in psychology. James gave a presentation on the foundations of a healthy environment where people are able to thrive, using perspectives taken from his experiences in professional team sport and the latest studies into families.

Several colleagues of both Stephanie and Joshua attended the awards to support them, and to enjoy the networking with teachers from other schools in the area.

The awards are organised by the Mid North Coast Region of The Australian College of Educators and are now an essential and much anticipated part of the education awards calendar in this area.
