Welcome Francesca Serafino, our new Coordinator of Science

Francesca joins us in 2022 as our new Coordinator of Science and Secondary Science Teacher. Francesca is Italian and moved to Australia in 2003. She has been teaching Mathematics and Science for the last 15 years in both public and private secondary schools, most recently at Bundaberg State High School, Mt Gravatt State High School (Brisbane) and Mackillop College in Port Macquarie.

The Media team sat down with Francesca at the start of Term 1 to find out a little more about her.  

What are you looking forward to about 2022 at SCAS?I look forward to meeting all my new colleagues and embracing the opportunities and challenges of my role at SCAS.
What was your favourite co-curricular activity as a student? As a student, I loved to play volleyball. I really enjoyed team spirit, training with friends and competing in games.
What is your favourite thing to do on the weekend in the Port Macquarie area?I like the beach, swimming in the ocean and walking along the shore.
What was your latest good read?My Year Abroad by Chang-Rae Lee. So well written!
Tell us a fun fact about youI can move the tip of my nose without moving the rest of my face!
