Welcome Rebecca Kennedy – Secondary Mathematics Teacher

In 2023, we welcome Rebecca Kennedy to our Secondary Mathematics Faculty. Rebecca joins us from Haileybury School in Melbourne, Victoria, where she has taught for the last four years. In her role there Rebecca taught VCE (Victoria’s HSC equivalent) Chemistry and Mathematics, and was a Year 9 Boys Pastoral Leader.

The SCAS Media team met up with Rebecca to learn more.

What are you looking forward to about 2023 at SCAS? The Port Macquarie weather – although it seems to be raining as much as Melbourne at the moment. I am really looking forward to working with and learning from the Maths Department – they are an awesome faculty in my unbiased opinion – and getting to know the wonderful SCAS students and community.
What was your favourite co-curricular activity as a student?  We didn’t have ‘official’ co-curricular at my school, but netball and swimming were my go to after school activities.
What is your favourite thing to do on the weekend? Still netball! But out of netball season, I can’t go past brunch and coffee after a long walk on the beach with my puppy.
What was your latest good read?‘Beautiful world where are you’ – by Sally Rooney.
Tell us a fun fact about you I am an avid Sydney Swans supporter – GO THE BLOODS!
