Year 10 Commerce students learnt some business acumen from local small business owner, Mark Collins, this week. Mark, who is the director of Aussie Port Macquarie and winner of the 2016 Better Business Awards Best Regional Office, shared with our students some of his valuable knowledge and experience about establishing and operating a business.
This was timely advice for the students, who will shortly be undertaking a project establishing their own mock businesses and having to apply for financial assistance in a similar manner to the popular TV show ‘Shark Tank’.
The students floated some of their creative business ideas by Mark, and found it an interesting and worthwhile experience.
