On Thursday 17th August, Year 2 went on an excursion to the Cowarra Dam as a part of their Science unit on “Water Works”.
The students were taken on a tour of the facilities including the dam wall, reservoir, outlet and the pumping station. They were given a detailed explanation of how the dam operates as well as the water cycle.
As well as this, Aunty Angela spoke to the group about the significance of the site to the local Aboriginal people and the meaning of the totems displayed on the grounds.
The students had a great time as did the teachers and parent helpers.
