Dance Teacher Pioneers New Techniques

During the recent holidays, SCAS dance teacher, Mrs Kelly, travelled to New York to undertake professional development at Alvin Ailey Dance Theatre. Mrs Kelly completed her certification in the pedagogy for Horton Technique under the direction of Ana Marie Forsythe, the world’s leading authority on the technique, and will be introducing our SCAS dancers to this technique, making SCAS is the first school in Australia to adopt it!

During her New York visit, Mrs Kelly also took classes in the Cunningham, Martha Graham and Limon Techniques to enhance her professional development.
