School for Scandal a Success!

The Glasshouse’s Ross Family Studio was recently transformed back to the dazzling “Roaring Twenties” with a beautiful art deco set created by Drama Teacher Mrs Catherine Grootenboer and the Year 11 Entertainment students.

The Year 11 Drama Production of the 18th century comedy “The School for Scandal” was brought to life by the talented cast, with Sebastian Styles driving the play as a slightly short tempered Sir Peter Teazle, Molly Vorias playing his young and infuriating wife, while Alexandra Hawes led her scandal-mongering possè to add confusion to the story. Harley Coleman and Jordan Magnus-McCarthy had the audience in hysterics as the eccentric, neurotic and wild characters of the twisted story, which led the plot from beginning to end. A happy ending was certainly achieved with the uniting of characters Charles and Maria, beautifully portrayed by Jacob Killick and Maemie Bann-Murray.

The Senior Drama Ensemble added flair to the play, creating memorable scene changes to a foot-tapping soundtrack, as well as livening up the stage in a Gatsby style party and a quirky art auction!

The performance was a complete dream come true for their director, Drama teacher, Ella Lakin.

Congratulations to the entire cast and crew of The School for Scandal on an outstanding performance!
