As the Head of Secondary School, one of the highlights of my role is welcoming new students and parents to St Columba. It’s always a pleasure to discuss the wide array of opportunities available in our co-curricular and camp program, tailored to each student’s interests and skills. These programs play a vital role in realising our vision of transforming students’ lives, providing them with the tools to lead purposeful, engaged lives. Enrolling at St Columba means embracing more than just classroom education; it’s about preparing our young people comprehensively for their futures.
Next week, our students will embark on journeys of exploration. From Year 7 to 9 camps to career and study path considerations for Years 10 and 11 and HSC preparations for Year 12, each program challenges students to grow and develop. While some may reflect fondly on past experiences, others may feel apprehensive about the challenges ahead. Yet, their courage and determination to participate and grow deserve recognition. In our supportive environment, students are encouraged to do their best, knowing that’s all we ask of them. Each of these experiences is a crucial piece of the puzzle shaping our students’ futures, and I wish them all an enriching and rewarding week ahead.
I also want to express my gratitude to our staff who will supervise these events. Their dedication, sacrificing time away from home and family, is truly commendable. It’s a testament to the commitment of our staff, not just during camps but in all aspects of co-curricular activities and beyond the classroom. I hope they have an enjoyable week, knowing their efforts contribute immensely to our students’ growth and development.
I extend my best wishes to all students and staff for a fulfilling and memorable week ahead, filled with growth, learning, and camaraderie.
