We know an education that equips our students to be agile thinkers and active citizens extends far beyond the confines of traditional academic subjects and classrooms. It is essential to equip our students with the skills, knowledge, and dispositions they need to thrive in a complex modern world. Through our focus on Deep Learning and the 6 C’s, we aim to empower our students to become lifelong learners who are adaptable, resilient, and capable of navigating complex challenges with confidence and creativity.
I am excited to share with you our School’s academic focus for 2024 and ongoing commitment to embed a Deep Learning culture at St Columba. Learning partnerships are a critical element of the learning design process that enhances the opportunities for students to learn and demonstrate the 6 C’s across a range of contexts. Relationships underpin effective partnerships and accelerate learning by connecting learners to authentic opportunities, engaging with solving real world problems, across classes or with experts and parents locally, nationally or globally. As learning becomes more relevant and purposeful, it moves beyond the classroom walls and builds on student interests and talents.
Throughout the year, you can expect to see students engaging in a variety of learning partnerships that reflect our commitment to Deep Learning and the development of the 6 C’s and I look forward to sharing more updates and insights with you.
If you would like to engage with the school through a learning partnership and help facilitate students solving real world problems, please do not hesitate to contact me on d.kelly@scas.nsw.edu.au.
