Georgia Takes out the North Coast Final of the Legacy Junior Public Speaking Competition

Year 9 student Georgia Stanfield-Gates has been selected as the Mid-North Coast representative for the State Semi Final of the Legacy Junior  Public Speaking Competition.

This competition is open to both public and private schools, and this year for the first time, the competition is taking place virtually.

Last term, Adam Winter and Georgia were selected as our SCAS representatives from a quality field of candidates: Adam spoke passionately about our responsibilities towards protecting the environment and adopting a sustainability mindset, and Georgia spoke with great sensitivity and insight about her increasing awareness as a young person of the issues around gender.

Usually, this state semi-final would be held in Sydney, however, this year it will take the form of a live virtual event on Tuesday 9th November.

At this level of the competition Georgia will be required to present her prepared speech, and also to give an impromptu speech on a topic she will receive on the day.

We wish Georgia all the best for this upcoming challenge, knowing that she will represent SCAS with great intelligence, poise and eloquence.
