On Tuesday, an enthusiastic gaggle of performers from Years 7 to 11 gathered to present a variety of performance pieces based on the dramatic works of William Shakespeare. The works ranged from scripted duologues to originally composed songs to short films, all drawing from the rich narratives of Shakespeare’s plays.
Students were judged based not only on their creative ability in the performing arts medium they chose but also on how well they reflected the themes, characters and narratives of the plays in their work.
The judges were greatly impressed by the creativity and sophistication of the works presented, and one group from each section was selected to travel to the regional finals of the Shakespeare Festival, which will be held in Armidale on May 15th at PLC.
Well done to all the performers.
Congratulations to the winning performances, we wish them all luck in the regional finals!
